2nd Annual Memorial Day Weekend

CAMPING CARAVAN

3 days of music, breweries, and camping

Asheville, NC

FRI MAY 22 - SAT MAY 23 - SUN MAY 24

POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19.  LOOKING GOOD FOR 2021... STAY TUNED.

Schedule

First off, we're turning this into a 4-day holiday weekend, so remember to take Friday, May 22 off work!  Plan to arrive at the campsite near Asheville by mid-afternoon Friday, so we have plenty of time to set up camp and chill a bit before heading into town for the first brewery stop.  Each day's brewery stop will feature live music by Dennis (and special guests), and tales of the many breweries we've played throughout the U.S.... while you enjoy the brewery.

Friday, 7-10pm - UpCountry Brewing - our first stop is a great brewery on the west side of Asheville (they also have a 2nd location in Brevard, NC).  Great beers served up in a festive indoor/outdoor atmosphere, UpCountry has a hippie vibe, hosts a weekly bluegrass jam, as well as music in the Grateful Dead and Phish realms.  Pizza is available onsite, but there are also lots of restaurants to walk to.

Friday, 10pm + - back to the campsite for late night fun!  Munchies, drink, and bring your own instruments for campsite jams.  Last year we mostly told funny stories and laughed deep into the night.

Saturday morning/afternoon - Explore Asheville.  Hike the mountains.  Shop.  Eat. Discover other breweries.  The world is your oyster... Note that several other breweries are a stone's throw from tonight's destination, so you could check out New Belgium, Wedge, Urban Orchard, Oyster House right in the neighborhood!

Saturday, 7pm-10pm - Archetype Brewing - this award winning brewery was just featured on the cover of Beer Aficionado's Best of 2019 issue! Several food options available, including pizza, Asian bistro, and a bakery, or bring your own!

Saturday, 10pm+ - back to the campsite, or explore Saturday night in Asheville

Sunday, 3pm - 6pm - Sierra Nevada Brewing Company - Sierra Nevada's Mill River campus is just 15 min south of Asheville.  Think of it as a mountain retreat for beer lovers.  Incredible food, several music venues in a park-like setting, we'll be playing music on the riverside at Lower Park, where you can chill in hammocks, throw frisbees or cornhole in the shaded lawn, and enjoy Sierra Nevada's awesome beer and food, served right there along the river

Sunday, 6pm + - back to the campsite for our last night together, or whatever else you like!

Monday (Memorial Day) - enjoy your leisurely day.

Pack up, head home.  Reflect ;-)

This will be HUGE fun!
